PATIENT INFORMATION
The following are frequently asked questions and their answers to help our patients at East Portland Neurology:
What is a neurologist?
A neurologist is a medical doctor with specialized training in diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the brain and nervous system. Neurologists do not perform surgery.
Do you treat minors?
No. We treat patients 18 years old and up.
What diseases do you diagnose?
We diagnose a wide range of neurological problems based on patients reported history, an examination of their neurologic system and evaluation of tests. Click here for more information.
What are your office hours?
Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm; Phones are off from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm each day.
How do I make an appointment?
Patients can call us directly for an appointment. Most patients are referred to us by their primary physician or another specialist.
Do you charge for cancelled appointments?
We reserve the right to charge for cancellations less than 24 hours before your appointment.
If I call your office with a question and can't reach anyone, will I receive a call back?
If you call the clinic with a question, a request, or a matter for discussion, we will call you back the same day, usually later in the day after we have seen our scheduled office patients. If the matter is something that needs immediate discussion we will call you back as soon as possible. True emergencies should bypass our office and be attended to in an urgent manner, either by calling 911 or by taking the patient to an emergency room.
How do I find out my test results?
Our doctors call patients personally to provide test results or to answer questions.
Do you provide 24 hour emergency care?
One of our doctors is always available to answer emergency calls from established patients. We share weekend call with the Neurologists of Oregon Neurology.
